Running around Mt. Rainier

Mt. Rainier, a northwest icon standing at 14,411, dominates the landscape of Mt. Rainier National Park. While Marty and I have summitted Mt. Rainier a number of times, we gained a new perspective of the mountain and its lush landscape by running around it.

In August of 2010, we ran the Wonderland Trail, a rugged 93 mile trail complete with 25,000 feet of gain, that circumnavigates Mt. Rainier. We completed the run over three days, carrying daypacks and meeting friends (and our son Keenan) to camp each night.

This video captures highlights of this adventure.
